Veteran actor Gufi Paintal who made the character Shakuni of Mahabharat iconic, is currently playing the character of Viswakarma in Swastik Productions popular show Karamphal data Shani. When asked about his participation in the show he says,"Siddharth Kumar Tewary is a very good visionary and he is making this show with utmost dedication. When I was offered this role, I was fully aware of the character details and complexity. Vishwakarma is the man who actually made everybody. In the northern and eastern part of our country, people worship lord Vishwakarma. In the factories, machines are also worshiped as Vishwakarma is the one who made all of us. Vishwakarma is also the grand father of Shani. I loved the layers of the character." Gufi Paintal is one of the senior most actors in Shani and he has had a very positive experience so far. He explains,"The whole cast of Shani is very good.
I have the best of relationships with Salil Ankola, Juhi Parmar and Kunal Bakshi. Swastik as a production house is very professional and all the actors and the crew are working in a very positive atmosphere. We have been taken care by the production house very nicely." When asked about his fondest memories from Mahabharata he says,"Apart from playing Shakuni I also used to work behind the camera for the show as well and auditioned 3500 actors for the casting of Mahabharata. The most interesting part was every week we used get the adrenaline rush to do better and better."
