Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's dream project Padmavati is in the news again for an unfortunate incident. The film's under constructed set in Kolhapur has now been set on fire. According to the reports 40-50 unidentified men attacked on the set and demolished whole set.
As per the news those unidentified men attacked around 12.00am to 1am mid night on Tuesday. They used petrol bombs too to set on fire. As we all knows that 'Padmavati' is a period drama based on the story of a mughal emperor Allaudin Khilji and Rajput Rani Padmavati so there were lots of antique props also burned down in this unfortunate attack. There is no casualties reported as of now. Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is currently in Kolhapur has not logged any official complaint to police but Police has already started their investigation. The local NCP MLA Jitendra awhad condemned the act and asked the police official to take all necessary action against those who are involved in the case.
In January this year activist from Karni Sena protested against the 'Padmavati' shoot in Jaipur and they even misbehaved and beaten director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Jaigarh fort. They damaged lots of camera and shooting equipment during that incident. According to the Karni sena, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is trying to portray Rani Padmavatri in an inappropriate way. They had an issue with the alleged scene in the film that would see Padmavati and Allaudin Khilji getting intimate However director and others actors like Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone lately said that there is no such scenes in the film.
